  20. 1. General Notes
  21. ================
  22.   IMPORTANT!
  23.   You must IMPERATIVELY read this README file and all the documentation
  24.   supplied BEFORE you continue the installation!
  25.   Otherwise the company cannot accept any responsibility for claims that 
  26.   may be caused as a consequence.

  28.   Please be aware that you can only take full advantage of the
  29.   features provided by the Stealth 3D 2000, if the other components of
  30.   your system, especially the graphic monitor that is being used,
  31.   also comply with the specifications of the Stealth 3D 2000.
  32.   (Example : The resolution 1280x1024 that is supported by the
  33.   Stealth 3D 2000 can obviously not be used with a monitor that is
  34.   specified to only support resolutions up to 1024x768).

  36. 2. Installation
  37. ===============
  38.   The program calls stated below refer to the installation from the
  39.   installation disks and the SuperCD ('SuperCD'). 
  40.   If you have only floppies in the box, the software at the floppies 
  41.   will be newer as the current CD.

  43.  2.1 Installation under Windows / Windows 95
  44. ===========================================
  45.   Note: The install program detects your operatin system and installs
  46.   the correct drivers. 
  47.   
  48.   Select the menu items 'File' and then 'Run' in the Windows Program
  49.   Manager. Then enter:
  50.  
  51.   a) (Disk)                  b) (SuperCD)
  52.      A:\SETUP                   <CD drive>:START
  53.  
  54.   Windows 95 and problems while playing Video-CD or CDI
  55.   -----------------------------------------------------
  56.   Our MPEG playback MCI driver uses the WIN95 driver for the CD-ROM 
  57.   drive. If Win95 doesn't support your CDROM controller not rigth (if
  58.   you use a CDROM drive at a IDE port, you are using the Win95 controller
  59.   driver for the IDE controller), there are 2 workarounds:
  60.   - Using the DOS-realmode driver
  61.   Install the CDROM driver in the Config.sys and 
  62.   \WINDOWS\COMMAND\MSCDEX.EXE in autoexec.bat. Additional it could be 
  63.   possible to disable the 32 bit mode for the drives.
  64.   - Using an other IDE controller
  65.   Use an other, secondary, IDE controller (normally address 170, IRQ 15
  66.   or 10), supported by Win95. If you use your CD-ROM at this port, the 
  67.   problem should be solved. 
  68.   (Only possible if your motherboard uses only one IDE controller, 
  69.   normally address 1F0, IRQ 14). 
  70.   You can use a second IDE port at newer soundboards with IDE port (no 
  71.   soundboards with CD-ROM CDROM interfaces for special xxx-drives) or a
  72.   simple ISA IDE controller.

  74. 2.2 Installation under OS/2 Warp
  75. ================================
  76.   A driver for OS/2 is currently not available. As soon as this is 
  77.   rectified, the driver will be placed at your disposal via our BBS, 
  78.   CompuServe or Internet.

  80. 2.3 Installing the Windows NT 3.51 Driver

  82.   Please read README.txt in the path:

  86. 3.  Choosing a Monitor
  87. ======================
  88.   As mentioned above, the graphics monitor you choose to use with
  89.   your board should be technically suitable for use with your
  90.   Stealth 3D 2000 board in order to be able fully utilize this.

  94.   Only use settings that your monitor supports. If you use the monitor
  95.   outside the specified ratings then it may suffer permanent damage!
  96.   If you change the monitor then you must compare the ratings first
  97.   and should reconfigure accordingly!

  99. 4. Restrictions
  100. ===============
  101.   Driver for AutoCAD, Microstation 3DStudio are not yet available. 
  102.   If they are available, you can get them from our online Services.
  103.   The MPEG Module MVP1100 and the TV Add on board DTV1100 will be 
  104.   supported in Q3.
